Not My Circus, Not My Monkeys

Not My Circus, Not My Monkeys, is a visual and performance art exhibition, which engages with the bright and playful lens of the circus to metaphorically serve as a view into the human psyche. The work is inspired by Carl Jung’s theory of the shadow and creatively explores the darker side of the human psyche in a dreamy realm of visual and performance art.
Not My Circus Not My Monkeys is a cathartic and immersive experience, where the audience interacts with and recognises themselves through the work, where they can learn to dance, laugh, and, play with their own shadow.
The exhibition was held at 6 pm on Friday the 21st of October 2022, at CoLab 2, 3 Cower Mews White Gum Valley. The Silly Town Circus was a fun-filled evening of visual delights, monkeying around, live music and performance, and original Silly Town Circus art, and merchandise for sale.
