Lee Marshall has been involved in the Arts from an early age; firstly with dance, then in making costumes for the Ballet Company. Later she spent two years in the Film and Television Industry as a freelance make-up artist.
Her formal Art Studies began at WASAD, Central TAFE with a Diploma of Art and Design (Ceramics) followed by a BA Visual Art Clay and Glass from Curtin University of Western Australia. After graduation she spent 3 years as a Design Associate at The Jam Factory Centre for Contemporary Craft and Design in South Australia. Lee stayed on for a further 12 months as Artist in residence/tenant. During her time at ‘The Jam’ she started Art Lounge making Ceramic Sculpture for the Jam Factory Galleries and exhibiting her work widely in Australia and overseas. In 2003 she was awarded the Australian Design Award for Excellence. Returning to WA in 2005 Lee worked from a home studio in East Fremantle (later in Bicton) and continued exhibiting. In 2007 she won the ‘City of Joondalup Art Award for Excellence’. In 2013 Lee returned to her studies at Curtin University achieving a Post Graduate Diploma of Education in Visual Arts and Languages,completing further study toattain a Cert IV TAE 40110 and Cert IV TESOL. She is currently teaching Visual Arts and ESL and living at SHAC in White Gum Valley. Lee is planning a slight shift in the direction of her Arts career.. |
